If you never try…

All my life I wanted to be an actress. But I never did anything about it until I had a wake up call (a course correction!) at 28-years old. I remember it so clearly. My 10-year high school reunion was nearing, and they sent a questionnaire asking the normal questions: Who’d you marry? Where do you live? Any kids? etc.

But the last question was: Have you achieved all you thought you would in your life by now? Whoa. That hit me like a ton of bricks – I hadn’t even started! I was living everyone else’s dream of me but my own. Time was passing so fast! I remember thinking… I have to find out what I am capable of! If I never try, I’ll never know!

That day I declared to myself and said out loud: I am going to be an Actress! It was a crazy dream. I was a single-mother living in Portland, Oregon with no role models and no clue how to do it. But somehow, against all odds, I found a way. I have now been making a living doing what I love for almost 30 years. If I can do that, anything and everything is possible for you too!

That is why I am passionate about creating this Dreamers Network here on my FB page. It is MY dream, a way to give back, mentor and inspire. I call it a support group for us Dreamers, and I invite you to participate. The world is too negative without someone to lean on and share the journey. It makes the tough times easier and the celebrations so much sweeter when we do it together!

The saddest thing I can think of would be to wonder “what if” at the end of one’s life. Time will pass anyway. If you never try, you’ll never know.

So, what Dream have you been sitting on? Make today your wake up call. Declare yourself, and start. If you’ve already started, take the next step. Share your progress here with us. I can’t wait to watch you achieve your dreams. By sharing your journey with us, you are helping to pay the inspiration forward. We are all in this together, and I have learned to expect miracles.
