Jan Payne, Mother & Grandmother

Barbara – thank you so much for sharing your painful experience. When you mentioned your daughter, you touched my heart. My granddaughter (Helena) is now 13. 10 years ago we were out to dinner at an Outback. She was 3 at the time. There were 6 or 7 of us as the table and suddenly Helena said, “Nana, I don’t feel good.” For some reason we went outside and she got sick. I tried not to watch because I have a weak tummy, but anyway I saw her… and I said to her “Helena, did you just put your fingers down your throat?” She said, “Nana, that’s what girls do” OMG – it was the most gut wrenching feeling. I went inside, told everyone we were going back to the house and that we would see them later. We got in the car and I said to her, “Helena have I EVER yelled at you? She said No Nana…I said, “Promise me you will never do that again. You need every ounce of nourishment you can get!” Barbara, you are beautiful inside and out and I am so grateful that you are around and sharing your story. I hope your daughter is doing well too. My love to you…KEEP GOING…
