Oh RBG, you are missed. I have no words, I am just utterly devastated to lose this legend of a woman. She fought so hard, and I am glad she has finally found peace from her illness. I pray for her friends and family as they mourn their personal loss.
But I think the testament to who she is and what she achieved is that we are all feeling like we lost a best friend, a mother, a sister, a protector, our fearless leader.
She led us by example with ethics, courage, wisdom, strength and kindness. These are in short supply right now, not only by our political leaders but between neighbors, families and friends.
RBG, thank you for teaching us that all things and all dreams are possible, and to stand up for what we believe in, for ourselves and for our country. You also taught us that if we see something unjust and do nothing, we are complicit. Please continue to guide us as we step up and work to fulfill your dreams of an equal and just world.
Going forward as this plays out, please watch and listen as our leaders and others show us who they are. Mark which side of the moral compass they live in and what their ethics are. Then decide which side of the moral compass you will also live in. You are part of this history, and this is what you will be remembered by. Are tribal politics and the pursuit of power worth losing one’s soul?
“Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you.” ~RBG
This is the most important election of our lifetime, and maybe in our country’s history. I believe our very democracy is at stake. Vote early and make sure your vote counts.
