Thank you Stephen Lovegrove for the lesson and reminder. I needed to see this today. Every time we think we are going through something all alone, hiding our hurt so that others will not think we are weak, we need to be open to messages. Your message reached my heart and spirit.
We never imagine someone else who looks so together could ever be dealing with issues like we are. Instead we withdraw, blame ourselves and “eat it” – which just makes it worse. To top it off, we are usually way harder on ourselves than we are on others.
If we are honest, each of us is struggling with something right now – something we can all relate to. Sharing our story and truth and “getting real” can not only allow someone to give us the gifts of understanding and help… it also allows us to pay forward the lesson. We can pass along those gifts of hope and faith and strength to someone else – maybe just when they need it most.
Thank you Stephen for being brave enough to post your story. I have similar ones. Many points in my life when I literally fell to my knees. We all do. But I believe that’s when God steps in and sends a messenger. A sign. Our aha moment. And the strength to receive help. (For me at least it’s always easier to give than receive. I am working on that.)
Bottom line is that we are all in this together, and we don’t always have to be the strong one. In fact, it takes strength to let someone help you. And then voila! A weight is lifted and everything can start to change in the opposite direction. Up instead of down. We gain perspective. And hope. We discover that just when we need it most someone will want to put us on their shoulders and carry us the next few steps – or maybe all the way over the finish line. But if they don’t know we need the lift, how can they help?
So if you are struggling with something right now that is too much to bear alone, maybe it’s time you reveal your secret. In my life I have learned that secrets keep us sick and keep us stuck. Take a chance. Reach out to someone and see what happens. I am sending you prayers and support right now, and I know many who are reading this post are sending you the same thing. We are here to help carry you over the next hump if you need it. You will do the same for us soon I am sure. In fact, that’s why I created the #DreamersNetwork. Dreamers supporting other Dreamers.
Stephen, thank you. I needed to see this today to remind me not to give up 5 minutes before the miracle. My own words, yet somehow that has gotten a tad buried lately. Today I am open to your message and I am here to carry you when you need it, and trust that you’ll carry me too. (You already have a few steps today in fact.) I feel better already. Just want you to know that you are making a difference in my life and to many others too. ![]()
