Chessies

This is a personal love note from me to all of you #Chessies. I just saw a post that says you are grateful to us. Oh my gosh, it is so the other way around! We have been so blessed by your tremendous support! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Let me tell you why sharing this experience with you has been extraordinary for me. When we were filming this series, we were away from home for a very long time. It’s sort of like being marooned on an island in a time warp away from reality. We work hard at our craft and do our very best as a creative team. Then when filming is over we go back home to our real lives and families. You almost ask yourself, did that really happen?

Then… it airs… and for me, that’s when the real magic happens. We finally get to share it with you and you become part of the journey too. It completes the circle.

Your support and feedback of this show and of my character Megan O’Brien has meant more to me than you can ever know. It is the kind of magic that I hoped for when I dreamed of becoming an actress over 30 years ago. Thank you for making my dream come true.

So as this season comes to an end, I just want to say thank you for joining us each week and for caring about these characters and this family. I hope that as you watch Trace and the O’Briens heal and work through their problems, you are inspired to do the same in your own life. That’s one of the best lessons Megan has taught me… that nothing is ever so broken that you can’t go back and try again. The world needs love and understanding right now more than ever. Let it start with each one of us.

God bless you and your family… from me and mine. (My real one… my O’Brien one… and my Hallmark Channel USA one.) I am blessed by, and so very grateful for, each of you.

Love, Barbara xo

PS – This is my favorite photo from my work this season. Diane Ladd and I were filming and this magical energy was captured by our set photographer Ricardo Hubbs Photography. I will never forget it.
