Dear God. Our hearts & prayers are with all of those suffering in the flooding of Houston and other areas. Watching the horrors that our fellow Americans are going through is mind-boggling and heart-breaking. There but for the grace of you, God, go any of us.
Thank you for the brave responders who are doing everything in their power to offer help to those who are desperate for it. We are watching in awe not only at their efforts during this devastation, but also at the news scenes where friends and neighbors of all colors and religions are coming together to help each other. That is the core of all Faiths and of America itself… neighbors uniting to help each other in true times of need. Life and death situations put things in perspective.
God, please help those who are in despair right now, and give them strength and hope to hang in there! We are praying for the rain to stop, and we know prayers are powerful! Please hear our prayers, God (no matter what name we call you), and keep our friends, neighbors and loved ones safe. We as a nation promise to do everything in our power to help you help us heal as we rebuild lives and property. We ask this in your name, and honor your precious gifts of love and life. Amen. ??
