Your message to the world

What’s your dream, your purpose, your message to the world? If you’ve been sitting on it, what’s holding you back? If it’s “nerves” at speaking up or really “showing up” as the real you, here’s a tip that I teach my media training clients. Nerves are actually a very selfish reaction. When you’re nervous, you’re thinking more about yourself than about the person you’re talking to. Instead, focus on what you are giving to the other person (or the audience) and be present with them in that moment. Listen. Make sure they feel understood and cared about. Connect heart to heart, and communicate your message with what I call a “heart nudge.” The bonus is that when you take the onus off of yourself and really GIVE, you’ll find your nerves dissipate too. Pretty cool huh? So, just for today… try it. Speak up about something you are passionate about. Don’t be selfish and keep it hidden away. We are waiting to hear your Truth. And… you just may change someone’s life with it. 🙂
